Island is one of the best known locations Arnuero Township and one of the famous tourist destinations in the eastern coast of Cantabria. Important set of sights that marks the landscape is dominated by the church of San Julian and Santa Vasilisa, declared of Interest with the category of Cultural Monument in 2002, and the Palace of the Counts of Island, declared of Cultural Interest in 1991.
 
Civilian buildings stand as its three medieval towers tower Cabrahigo or Gracedo, declared of cultural interest in the Monument category in 1992; that of Novales, declared of cultural interest in the Monument category in 2002; and the four medieval towers of Rebollar, declared of cultural interest in the Monument category in 1992.
